About this guide

bitcoinsv.design is the BSV design guide: a reference for the designers and developers building BSV wallets, payments and apps. It is published by the BSV Association and free to read.

It exists because designing for BSV has its own answers. Payments hand over directly from one wallet to the next, apps ask a wallet to act rather than holding keys, identity is a certificate the user chooses to present, and a complete backup is two things rather than one. Every one of those reaches the screen, and every one has a page here.

So every page is written for BSV, from the proposals and the documentation, and lists its sources at the foot. Where something is unsettled, the page says so rather than picking a side quietly. A reference you cannot trust about its own state is not a reference.

The technical stance

The Wallet Application Interface and peer-to-peer payments are the recommended defaults, designed with the risk assessment's guardrails in mind. Older patterns (plain P2PKH addresses, recovery-word wallets built on BIP-39 and BIP-44, address-only Paymail and DPP) are documented because products still meet them, never presented as the way to build something new.
